Barbecue area Skyttorp forest garden

The Skyttorp Forest Garden Association is developing a place for learning, community and biodiversity conservation directly adjacent to the Skyttorp settlement. The area already has sheep grazing, workshops, scout meetings, and now the association wants to create a shared barbecue area.

The village currently has few public meeting places. The project will contribute to increased cohesion through a place that is open to everyone, regardless of religion, age or family situation. The activities thus include the purchase and installation of a barbecue area and the manufacture of seating from local wood. They will also purchase tables and chairs that make it easier for seniors and people with mobility impairments to get to the place and participate in the activities. Finally, they will inaugurate the place with a barbecue!

The association is responsible for maintenance and wood replenishment, and for the project they will purchase a chainsaw, which the association's members can borrow.

The project is collaborating with Vattholma pastorate, which will be able to use the space for confirmation activities, among other things. In addition, project manager Elin describes that the Ladusång choir wants to use the space, and they will also perform at the barbecue.

The barbecue area is expected to become a natural meeting place for residents and visitors, and will provide a place for community in Skyttorp.
