Bobrunna Gård has been granted SEK 100,000 in support for a feasibility study with the aim of developing an action plan and establishing an association to run and create a public forest garden. Part of the granted support will also be used to arrange free lectures and workshops open to the public. The initiative aims to engage the community and spread knowledge to inspire local initiatives around food production and ecosystem services.
Come to Skyttorp and be inspired by 3 inspiring speakers - completely free of charge!
We are pleased to share the news of three free lectures organized by Bobrunna Farm, as part of their effort to spread knowledge and engage society around sustainable food production and rural development.
Address: Knypplanvägen 11, Skyttorp, Uppsala Municipality
The lecture is free but registration is required. More info and link to registration form here: https://bobrunna.se/#Evenemang
About the lectures:
Jasmine Waara – Wednesday 28 February at 19
Jasmine Waara, known as the ”Garden Troll”, is an experienced pomologist who will guide participants through the planning of a fruit and berry garden. Sharing her knowledge of both common and unusual varieties, Jasmine will show how to stretch the harvest season to maximize the harvest and enjoyment of your homegrown fruits and berries.
Philipp Weiss- Wednesday 6 March at 7 pm
Philipp Weiss, resident of Puttmyra Skogsträdgård in southern Dalarna, will share his experience of forest gardening and nut and fruit growing in Nordic climates. With over 200 species of trees, shrubs and climbing plants in his garden, Philipp will show that it is possible to grow nuts almost anywhere in the Nordic region.
David Jonstad – Monday, April 22 at 7 p.m.
David Jonstad, author, lecturer and freelance journalist, will talk about his life choice to leave the big city for a life in the countryside and what this has taught him about the meaning of life. He will also discuss how we can meet today's challenges through a transition that benefits both our own well-being and the health of the planet.
We encourage everyone interested in sustainable food production, rural development, and personal transformation to participate in these inspiring lectures.
More about the project being carried out by Bobrunna Gård will be posted below. ”"Project"” coming soon. Stay tuned!
