About the study trip
How do we create vibrant rural areas where people thrive, get involved and want to stay? This study tour invites you to an inspiring day where we explore how community, local engagement and networking can become powerful tools for regenerative development. We make several stops where we meet enthusiasts, businesses and environments that contribute in different ways to strengthening the local community.
Program (preliminary)
8.00 Bus trip departs from Vallentuna town hall – Gymnasievägen 4c, 186 36 Vallentuna
8.40 The bus picks up participants in Sigtuna Town Hall – Södergatan 20, 195 47 Märsta
9.10 The bus picks up participants at Knivsta municipal hall – Centralvägen 13, 741 40 Knivsta
9.45 The bus picks up participants at Uppsala Central Station – Stationsgatan stop. E3. It is located on the same side as Radisson Blu about the station. Opposite Fålhagens health center.
11.00 Sociotetshuset Källör – Recreation center activities at the community center.
On this visit we will hear more about the concept The junction point which makes it easier to start recreation centers in rural areas. The hub connects community centers, municipalities and local leaders to create safe and free meeting places. Here, children and young people have the opportunity to develop, move and feel a sense of community – regardless of where they live.
11.30 Simple lunch is served at Källör.

12.50 Fastbols Farm Shop – Networking and collaboration around food
We will hear more about the project. The food source that can help local food producers both reach out better and grow at home. We meet the initiators who want more local food to be both produced and end up on our plates.

14.00 Urban green spaces and allotments in Österbybruk
We will hear more about when civil society strengthens both the ecological and social values in a region.

16.00 Annual meeting for Upplandsbygd – locally led development
approx. 19.00 Bus home for annual meeting participants (The time for the return trip is preliminary and depends on when the annual meeting and constituent meeting are concluded)

🚌 The bus starts in Vallentuna and picks up visitors in Sigtuna, Knivsta and Östhammar.
🍽️ Lunch will be served during the first study visit and dinner for those coming to the annual meeting
