The food source part 1

In the project The food source part 1 Östhammar's business association, together with Micaela Zackrisson, wants to help local food producers both reach out better and grow at home. In short: they want more local food to be both produced and end up on our plates.

Background

There have been many good initiatives to promote local food through larger events in Östhammar – but it has often been the case that small businesses simply do not have the time or resources to push it forward.

At the same time, there is a desire to do something together. Many dream of recurring meeting places and events where local producers can be seen, meet customers and inspire more people.

Purpose

The sub-project wants to give everyone involved a clear picture of what types of events are actually possible, and what the current situation looks like. They want everyone to feel involved and be able to influence the way forward – so that a future common platform is built on both knowledge and common understanding.
This is about finding the participants' strengths and rallying around what they believe in.

CASE

Together with local food producers, growers, processors and other food actors – as well as representatives from the Swedish Business Administration – the sub-project will create a comprehensive SWOT analysis.

This analysis will be an important tool for seeing the current situation and what can be built together in the future. The hope is that it will lay the foundation for something bigger: a long-term, sustainable and inspiring collaboration around local food in the municipality of Östhammar.
