Start-up regenerative agriculture + construction of food premises

Bestbo Gård through Sanna Lindahl became Bestbo Gård in Norrskedika outside Östhammar was granted project support because regenerative agriculture contributes to the ecological goals, among other things through carbon storage. Also because the sub-project contributes to more local production and collaborations with other local actors. The food store is predicted to become a learning business with, for example, processing of local products.

We want to carry out this project primarily so that we can deliver so many more ecosystem services and leave the land/arable land in much better condition than we found it. By switching from conventional to regenerative agriculture, we could give more back to the land without losing anything ourselves and at the same time show others that a sustainable transition works, by being a good example. Regarding demand for products: we have surveyed the customer base in the local area and noted that there is a high demand for locally produced eggs. We have also been in contact with several wool buyers and have buyers ready to accept all the wool we can produce in the new system.

The food hall could serve as a meeting place for other local food producers, something that is really lacking today.
