Take care of the local wool

The wool agency at Sjökärret, Almunge outside Uppsala, through Fia Söderberg, was granted project support. The support will be used to develop knowledge transfer around local and Swedish wool so that it can be used instead of thrown away.

The Wool Agency's vision is "All wool is used for 100 %" and in this project will develop digital collaboration and support towards organizations and companies that need support, expertise or market knowledge to develop their own sustainability work with a focus on increased utilization of wool. The target groups are also other customer segments such as wool producers/sheep owners, wool processors, established entrepreneurs, new entrepreneurs, private individuals/consumers such as craftsmen and those in demand for Swedish wool.

Motivation of the Board:

Wool is a valuable raw material that is currently thrown away to an all-too-large extent. With the development of the Wool Brokerage, more sheep owners, producers, craftsmen and consumers will have the opportunity to learn more about wool and be able to trade wool with each other.

The Wool Agency was also granted project support in marketing within Sustainable Entrepreneurship.

The Wool Agency will create a communication strategy with designated activities to market the Wool Agency, a new stakeholder function and digital courses. The new digital courses are being held in collaboration with the newly started spinning mill Rodens ullbruk, among other things.

Motivation of the board

The wool brokerage should be able to fulfill an important function within wool Sweden and with expanded training efforts, courses, support for the network's actors and increased visibility, the company can grow.
