Harvest market in Gräsö

The project is part of the umbrella project Shorter food chains

Project manager Ellinor Nordensten wants to create a recurring market for local and locally produced food and drink on Gräsö. By organizing an autumn and harvest market in the barn, she aims to provide local producers a place to sell their goods, while also creating meeting points where new collaborations can emerge.

About the project

In order to organize markets, the barn needs to be adapted with improved flooring and lighting. Behind the idea is a desire to strengthen local food, increase contact between producers and visitors, and build an event that can recur twice a year.

The project targets businesses, associations, permanent residents, seasonal residents, tourists, and day visitors in Östhammars municipality. In the long run, the project can contribute to stronger local networks, better economy for producers, and a clearer place for locally produced food in the area.
