Planning of a public forest garden
The project involves creating an action plan and an application for a large project, as well as forming an association for a common forest garden and its creation and operation. Workshops and interviews with local residents are organized and invitations are sent to desired partners: scout groups, preschools, schools, the Vattholma transition group, Vattholma in collaboration, Åstråken, and more.
About the project
The project is part of the umbrella project Natural values in Upplandsbygd
The project aims to develop an action plan and an application for a comprehensive project and to establish an association for the forest garden and its creation and management. Through lectures and workshops, they will educate the participants and establish collaborations with partners and local residents to enable the implementation of the large project. Local residents, associations and schools/preschools will be invited to workshops to give their wishes and views on how the project should be designed, as well as what is important to them when it comes to the forest garden. The project focuses on building relationships and anchoring the idea of creating and managing a forest garden at a local level. Cooperation and interaction are fundamental principles of the project, where all partners are expected to learn from each other to maximize the benefits for everyone involved. An important part of the project is to increase knowledge about why forest gardening is important, which will be achieved through lectures and information activities, among other things.
