Kvarnbacken in Brottby

The project is part of the umbrella project Rural development.

Össeby local history association wants to make the local history museum in Brottby an attractive meeting place. To do this, a feasibility study will be carried out to investigate whether it is possible to move an older cultural and historical building to the local history museum and whether this can become the framework for a new stage.

About the project

Össeby local history association wants to investigate its possibilities to develop the local history garden in Kvarnbacken, Brottby, into an attractive meeting place to bring the cultural environment in the area and its cultural history to life. To investigate the possibilities, a preliminary study will be carried out to investigate whether it is possible to move an older cultural and historical building to the local history garden in Kvarnbacken and whether this can become the framework for a new scene.

In conjunction with the relocation of the building, a baking oven is also being moved, which will make it possible to bake bread without electricity. This is being done both for increased preparedness and to spread knowledge about bread baking.

The project wants to create opportunities to develop theater and music activities and make the local community center a more attractive meeting place.
