The project planned to make Gimo Square even more vibrant by planting a number of benches and Knutmassogubbar with audiological content about the history of Knutmasso linked to sustainability in various areas.
A competition for schoolchildren is inviting them to design suitable benches, and the green environment of the square was supplemented with perennial plants, with the aim of creating diversity and making the area free from ongoing maintenance. The new square area will provide space for three market tables for locally produced goods, continuing the intention to make the center of Gimo even more interesting for pedestrian traffic.

The project was part of the umbrella project The Builders
The project plans to make Gimo torg even more lively by planting a number of benches and Knutmassogubbar. These are untreated wooden sculptures, free from maintenance. These are complemented by an audiological content, with messages about Knutmasso's history linked to sustainability in various areas. The local woodcarver is commissioned to make 3 larger and 14 smaller figures, the latter symbolizing the audience. The figures are made of oak.
A competition for schoolchildren invites them to design suitable benches, from which the artist selects the three best proposals. The green environment of the square is complemented with perennial plants, with the aim of creating diversity and making the area free from ongoing maintenance.
The new square area will also provide space for three market tables for locally produced goods. The investment supports the intention already initiated by Östhammar Municipality to make the center of Gimo even more attractive for pedestrian traffic.
