Garden of Health

The aim of the project is to develop the operations of the social work-integrated company Nytänk by creating a rehabilitative garden environment. The goal is to offer people in exclusion meaningful employment, job training and green rehabilitation.

About the project

Nytänk in Alunda has run a project with the aim of creating a rehabilitative garden environment for people living in exclusion. The project enables an investment in green rehabilitation and work training in a safe and healing environment. Within the framework of the project, they have created a garden with greenhouses and growing beds, which creates a peaceful atmosphere for recovery and employment.

By developing a new service within green rehabilitation, Nytänk has broadened its support to people outside the labour market. The project was led by experienced project manager Hans, and was carried out in close collaboration with local actors and the Bryggan network, which includes the Swedish Public Employment Service, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency, Östhammar Municipality and the Uppsala Region.

The result? Well, it's a new physical meeting place that has been integrated into Nytänk's daily operations. It combines nature, social community and work life training in a way that promotes both personal development and long-term inclusion.

Nytänk has also run a smaller sub-project, under the umbrella project Inclusive rural areas 2030. You can find more about it here. here.
