Generational meetings in nature

The project aims to organize intergenerational meetings in nature, where primary school students and seniors from the 65+ meeting point get the chance to have coffee together and participate in various activities. The Upplandsstiftelsen hopes that these meetings will provide valuable experiences in the moment, and lead to further collaboration among the activities. 

With nature as an arena, Upplandsstiftelsen and project manager Sara want to test methods for meeting outside in nature, across generations. These meetings can provide increased security and well-being in the local community. The memories that are created can contribute to the joy of the elderly and give the students something to work on in the classroom. The goal is to hold two meetings outside in the local nature with the target groups seniors from meeting point 65+ and students from primary school.

The meetings will be held in both Björklinge and Storvreta. In addition to the meetings themselves, the project includes planning, collecting feedback and further development. They will, among other things, hold a workshop where staff from Träffpunkt 65+, the Upplandsstiftelsen and the school will participate. The workshop is being held to be able to develop collaborations and models for intergenerational meetings in nature. Hopefully, the meetings will become recurring even after the end of the project.
