Recreation center operations in Stavby

The project is part of the umbrella project Rural development.

The project aims to create a safe and creative meeting place for children and young people. Through collaboration between Stavby School and the community centre association, a recreation centre is being developed that strengthens the community, promotes creativity and contributes to a more active village.

About the project

The project wants to start a recreation center operation in Stavby bygdegård, in close collaboration between Stavby bygdegårdsförening and Stavby skola. The goal of the project is to strengthen the community in the village and create more local activities for children and young people.

The initiative grew through Stavby school council, and two pilot meetings were organized during the spring. The activities, such as point hunt and concrete pouring, were very appreciated and showed a clear need for regular after-school activities. In total, about 15-20 children participated in the pilot meetings. The project now wants to establish a free after-school activity once a week, with a focus on artistic expression and creative creation. Finally, a vernissage will be held, where the children's work will be exhibited.

In addition to the creative focus, the project wants to expand the possibilities for activities for older students, especially since Stavby School has introduced a mobile phone ban. Therefore, one of the goals is to increase the range of activities for high school students, so that they can organize game nights in the future.

The ambition is that after the project period, the activities will become a natural, long-term meeting place for Stavby's children and young people, and a place for creativity, community and learning.
