A local and organic soap factory

Vänge Ecological Soap Company through Oumaro Kiemde, in Vänge outside Uppsala, was granted project support to develop its sustainability work with the company.

Vänge Organic Soap Company wants the ecological ideas in the company to be strong and continue to permeate
all decisions made within the company. Purchasing raw materials and informing the customer about manufacturing are two major parts that contribute to sustainability. Now the soap factory wants to take the step and become completely fossil-free when it comes to transportation. Since they drive a lot in the company, we want to switch to electric bicycles for all transportation within Uppsala County. They also want to increase their economic sustainability through EU certification, which opens up the soap factory to reach more markets.

Motivation of the Board:

Certification for cosmetics creates the conditions for a larger market and thereby
more sales.
A clear ecological fossil-free initiative that can generate at least one
part-time job.
