Bakery cottage in Viby

Pelle & Marie want to investigate if it is possible to give new life to an unused cottage in Viby by transforming it into a baking house. They will, among other things, find out what is required to sanitize, freshen up, and adapt the place, thereby creating conditions for a local business focused on sourdough bread, sustainability, and craftsmanship.

The project is carried out in collaboration with the National Property Board of Sweden, which owns and manages the cottage. Together, the parties want to explore how the values of the place can be utilized in a careful manner, while the house receives a new function and can become a living part of the community.

Project leaders Pelle & Marie hope that the baking house can become a meeting place in the future where people gather around freshly baked bread, knowledge about the origin of food, and interest in local ingredients. By working with cultural grains and local actors, they want to strengthen both the community and preparedness in Viby.
