Biodiversity and learning measures

Bobrunna Gård wants to develop the possibilities for biodiversity by creating inspiring examples. The efforts made on the farm will serve as a role model and spread knowledge about the importance of preserving and promoting biodiversity to a wider public. 

The main aim of the project is to inspire visitors to the farm, participants in field trips and preschool groups to take the initiative in simpler measures for biodiversity and to understand its importance. To achieve this goal, the farm has engaged a biodiversity expert to provide tailored advice and recommendations to maximize the impact of the measures on site.

As a result, project owner Elin has created a “biodiversity trail”, with educational and informative signs and viewing areas. Along the trail, the audience can take part in small initiatives that they can implement themselves in their own yard, courtyard or why not even in the schoolyard?

Elin has organized workshops, school visits and a sustainability festival, all with the aim of spreading practical knowledge about the importance of preserving and promoting biodiversity. During a visit to the Pinneman preschool, the children were invited to tap on nest boxes and examine which species had moved in, which sparked discussions about bird calls, nest boxes and habits. The children appreciated Elin’s visit, and she has also been to the school to build nest boxes together with the children. She invited artists, lecturers and singers to the sustainability festival. She also organized a field trip, which created a nice community with the opportunity to learn new things and be inspired by the farm’s projects.

Bobrunna Gård, led by Elin, has emerged as a local example of how biodiversity measures can be combined with learning and the joy of exploring nature together.
