It is this year's National Rural Week, May 5-9, and Upplandsbygd, Sigtuna Municipality and Herresta Lada would like to invite you to a morning and afternoon at the pleasant Herresta Lada where we will discuss the very topical topic of food security. With a focus on Sigtuna Municipality.
We will alternate lectures with smaller group discussions and our purpose for this day is to first take the big steps in food preparedness and food chains and then go down to a more local/regional level. The goal for the day is that we will have gained a deeper understanding of food preparedness and supply with a focus on Sigtuna. The goal is also for actors in the area to meet and get to know each other in order to continue this work.
We will have broad representation from the first producers in the food chain to buyers and consumers. And also organizations that are currently working to shorten food chains and promote local production and consumption. We will also get to hear different perspectives from Sigtuna Municipality through officials in emergency preparedness, meal service and business, as well as from the political level through the municipal board.
