Things are happening in Skyttorp! In the middle of little Skyttorp, an exciting venture is being planned for a public, cooperatively run forest garden, something that we at Upplandsbygd are proud to be able to support with funding. On February 28, the first lecture in the series was held, and it was an evening filled with knowledge and inspiration for all the green fingers out there.

The lecture was led by none other than @gardentroll Jasmine Waara, a renowned gardener and pomologist, brought her expertise to bear, sharing invaluable insights into fruit and berry gardening. From common favorites like blueberries and strawberries to more unusual varieties, Jasmine gave us the tools to plan a versatile garden that can produce a long-lasting harvest.

Being able to harvest and enjoy your own fruits and berries is a fantastic feeling, and Jasmine showed us how, with the right planning, we can maximize our harvest while minimizing the effort. By stretching the harvest season, we can not only increase the amount of harvest, but also create more time for relaxation in the hammock – a winning combination!

We would like to thank the 66 people who took the time to attend the lecture and listen to Jasmine Waara's inspiring words. It is clear that there is great interest in sustainable farming and gardening here in Skyttorp. We are convinced that this enthusiasm will contribute to an increase in fruit and berry farming in Norduppland. For those of you who missed the lecture, there is still the opportunity to take part in the knowledge by following Trädgårdstrollet, Jasmine Waara's blog and podcast.

In addition, we would like to remind you of the upcoming workshop about the forest garden in Skyttorp on March 24th at 2:00 PM, which is being arranged as a continuation of the Forest Garden Project run by Bobrunna gård with our funding. In order for this place to be as good as possible, we want to hear from you – what do you wish would be here? How is the place used today, and what functions can it fulfill in our village? Come and have an impact! As an extra incentive, extra tasty buns are promised. Don't forget to follow Bobrunna gård to stay updated on what's happening in the project.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank the organizers and all the enthusiasts who make this possible. Your efforts are invaluable in creating a sustainable transition locally. Together we can make Skyttorp an even greener and more sustainable place to live!
