Project manager with an interest in sustainable natural resource management

Do you want to participate in and develop the local work towards richer water and landscapes in Uppland? Do you want to give associations and companies the opportunity to run development projects that make the region they live in more attractive and sustainable? In the full-time position as a project manager at Upplandsbygd Lokalt Ledd Utveckling you get to do all of this and become an important hub in the local work. At the same time, you get to develop a breadth of skills and competencies!

If you haven't heard of Upplandsbygd Locally Led Development before...

Upplandsbygd Lokalt Ledd Utveckling is a non-profit organization where non-profit, public and private forces take a joint approach to rural development in the municipalities of Knivsta, Sigtuna, Uppsala, Vallentuna and Östhammar. This is done through locally led development with the Leader method, financed by, among others, the EU and the municipalities concerned, and with sustainable development as a guiding principle. The organization's office currently consists of five full-time employees and is located in Storvreta, just north of Uppsala, which is centrally located in the operating area with good communications. The organization's current project manager for intervention areas aimed at richer water and landscapes will go on parental leave this fall and Upplandsbygd Lokalt Ledd Utveckling is now looking for a substitute for the office.

What will my tasks be?

As project manager for the focus area richer water and landscape, you will work to create good conditions for a transition to a regenerative use of our water, soils and forests. “Richer” refers to plant and animal life, cultural heritage, but also long-term economic profitability. You will proactively promote sustainable farming that builds up ecosystems so that, for example, more carbon is stored in the soil and biodiversity increases, while actively working with the entire value chain from farm to fork and the issue of nutrient recirculation. You will actively contribute to a future Uppland region whose ecosystems are better preserved and more productive and resilient.

In addition to this, you work with information and advice and processing project applications. You support project owners and strengthen them in their work. This can mean facilitating idea generation, providing advice on project management and assisting with contacts. In addition, you work with other parts of the business as needed, as you become an important part of a small working group that collaborates to achieve their goals together.

To thrive and develop in the role, we would like you to:

  • Driven by accelerating sustainable development through grassroots work.
  • Is structured, responsive and service-oriented.
