About the project
Project manager Lotta Nordström wants to develop Åby into an even more inviting place, where more people have reason to take the bike out and stay for a while in the open landscape between Lindbacken and Skölsta. With nature, the river, and wildlife around, there is already a special tranquility and charm here, and with Åfiket, Lotta wants to build on that feeling and create a place where people can meet, have coffee, and just be for a while.
Åbyloppisen has already become a cherished little oasis for many visitors, and Åfiket will be a natural next step in developing the farm as a destination. By establishing a self-service area with local products, plantings, bike racks, and clear signage, Lotta wants to make the place even more welcoming and lively. At the same time, there is a desire to highlight local businesses and give them more opportunities to reach new customers.
Even Linnéstigen will have a clearer place in the experience, so that visitors can take part in both nature, history, and the stories that belong to the place.
Lotta wants Åfiket to become a destination that people want to return to for coffee, discover something new, and at the same time support the local economy. In the long run, she hopes that the place will contribute to more bike trips, more meetings between people, and more opportunities for local entrepreneurs to be seen and grow.
