Stordammen as a recreational environment 

Background: 

Through this investment, Österby Fishing Association wants to help ensure that more young people, in particular, get out to experience nature and create a greater social presence. Few families have the resources to invest in expensive outdoor equipment. Sharing reduces the waste of resources, but at the same time creates opportunities for activities. 

Purpose: 

They want to create conditions for residents and visitors to experience Stordammen and its surroundings. Not least, they want to give the school's students additional opportunities for varied outdoor activities in the area.  

The goal:  

During the final months of the project, the kayaks were loaned out 6 times, and used by students at Österby School before the end of the summer holidays in 2026.  

Activities:  

• Purchase of kayaks.  

• Marketing the kayaks in the local social media.  

• Marketing of the kayaks to Österbyskolan students. 

• Marketing the kayaks to guests at Simbadets Camping.    

Collaborations: 

Simbadets Camping to house the kayaks and be responsible for lending them out.  

Österbyskolan to organize activities and lending at the dam.   

The Uppland Foundation to create the best possible range of activities for the school's students.
