Smart local solutions

Here you can apply for a sub-project to develop a smart, local solution. The project can concern new ideas within service or culture, or new ways of working that strengthen the countryside and contribute to better local service and reduced environmental and climate impact.

About the project

Smart local solutions is one of our umbrella projects where your organization has the opportunity to apply for support for a smaller project. Running a sub-project means less administration and faster decisions compared to applying for leader support for a more comprehensive initiative.

What can you search for?

The aim is for the sub-projects to develop smart local solutions that promote positive development in rural areas.

To apply for the grant, your sub-project therefore needs to lead to one of these. For example, you can apply for:

  • skills development or equipment to start a new leisure or cultural activity.
  • equipment, materials or expertise to create new services or service solutions
  • to develop and test new methods or solutions to reduce the local environment and climate impact
  • to create a new meeting place, or adapt a meeting place to reach new target groups.

Who can apply?

Applicants can be associations, organizations or companies operating within the geographical area of Upplandsbygd. The projects financed with this support must be beneficial to society and contribute to development in Upplandsbygd's rural areas.

When can you apply?

Applications are accepted during the period February 1 to March 1, 2026. Decisions are made by a decision-making group with members from the Upplandsbygd board. Always contact us at the leader office before you start an application, we will listen to your idea and guide you so that the application is done correctly.
