potatoes with a twist

The project is part of the umbrella project Local Economy and Sustainable Entrepreneurship.

Through this project, Langhard Lantbruk wants to create a collaborative process around a potax collectors, to reduce the impact of climate change, increase economic stability and contribute to shorter food chains. This investment will regenerate the countryside in the long term and create local development that takes place between mennods.

About the project

Langhard Lantbruk wants to improve the opportunities for local food production in the Vallentuna region with the help of a shared potato harvester. The tool will reduce the workload during harvesting, reduce the impact on the climate through shared machine use, and increase the proportion of food grown at a local level.

Their goal is for more small-scale growers in the local area to be able to easily harvest potatoes and thereby increase their cultivation - both for preparedness purposes and to increase their economic stability.

What the project will do:
– Purchase of a potato harvester.
– Organize among local growers to create a collaborative process.
– Showcase and spread information to more people who want to grow potatoes in the region.

The potato harvester will be able to be used by several smaller growers in the Vallentuna area and surrounding areas. By creating a simple booking system via the website, where booking is done via form and confirmed via email along with terms and conditions of use.

The aim is to create a simple and transparent process for all participants. The project is being carried out in collaboration with the Food and Flavors association in Northern Stockholm.
