Nature experiences, adventures and cultural encounters
About the project
On the Granlund 2:4 farm outside Knivsta, Monica Jonsson plans to develop a visitor destination that combines nature experiences, sustainable lifestyles and cultural encounters. The project, which was prioritized by the Upplandsbygd board on April 23 of this year, aims to create a close-to-nature alternative for overnight stays – namely overnight stays in tree tents.
The plans also include planting pollinator-friendly plants and developing the site for social and educational activities. Visitors will be able to hike here via the Upplandsleden trail, which passes through Ängbyskogen Nature Reserve, and experience a landscape rich in species worthy of protection.
The project will include simple infrastructure such as a barbecue area, dry toilets and information signs, as well as opportunities for school classes and the general public to take part in events, workshops and study visits. Monica is collaborating with the local association Vink and the nature school in Knivsta, among others. The vision is to create a meeting place where people can be inspired to make sustainable choices and gain a deeper relationship with nature.
