Upplandsbygd och Sjöutsikt Sverige AB invites you to an exciting exchange of experiences during the Baltic Sea Days. Here you will see the reed business in operation and discover the potential of reed for local and sustainable rural development. We will explore how reed contributes to the return of nutrients from waterways to land-based production, its use as feed, and its role in a circular and resilient economy. The event is part of our project Richer water, which is now nearing its end. We look forward to celebrating the project's successes and spreading good examples through two open house events at a location where Sjöutsikt AB harvests reeds.
Time and place for open house:
– Thursday, August 29th, 12-6pm
– Sunday, September 1, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
– Place: Rydboholm, 184 94 Åkersberga (link to google maps)
During the event, Sjöutsikt AB will demonstrate their technology for harvesting and processing reeds. You will have a unique opportunity to follow Sjöutsikt out onto the water to see how this technology transforms reeds, a resource often considered waste, into valuable feed. It is so cool that it has been proven that harvesting reeds into feed with their technology is a double win for both animals and the environment, it is an excellent chance to learn more about how this innovation can positively impact both the environment, society and the economy.
The event also offers a platform for networking and inspiration. Here you will meet representatives from Sjöutsikt Sverige AB, Leader Upplandsbygd Lokalt ledd Utveckling, the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), Vallentuna 4H and other actors who have been involved in the Richer Water project. We invite and welcome representatives from the public sector, enthusiasts, non-profit associations, companies and the general public to this event where you can be inspired and make contacts that can lead to new collaboration opportunities at a local level. Everyone is welcome!
We offer a simple lunch and coffee breaks during the day.
