This is our annual follow-up where the municipalities' efforts within the LEADER program are compared to the total value created by projects operating in each municipality. We are now in the third year of the program period "Strategic Plan 2023-2027", and the summary below shows the development during the period 2023–2025. The work continues at a high pace, with several upcoming projects expected to contribute to a continued strong outcome in the future.
Upplandsbygd is an association that is part of the EU-funded LEADER program. LEADER is based on cooperation between the public, non-profit and private sectors. The municipalities contribute financial funds together with the EU and the Swedish state, while project owners contribute both non-profit time and private resources to the projects that Upplandsbygd supports.
Below is a diagram illustrating both the municipalities' financial contributions to LEADER projects (input) and the total value created (outcome) up to 31 December 2025:

Result: Total resources mobilized, including EU and state funds, municipal funding, non-profit resources and private funding. The outcome only includes projects that have been prioritized by the board.
Between 2023-2025, we have worked to create good opportunities for new projects that actors in the Upplandsbygd area want to implement, and several have had time to get decisions and implement them. When we look at all the concept sketches and sharp projects that are already underway, it looks positive that all municipalities will get a good boost from their efforts.
