To wrap up the Unga Planetskötare 2026, everyone gathered at a closing meeting on September 5 at Sigtuna Folkhögskola. During the meeting, all young planet caretakers presented to each other how the projects went, what they were about, and shared reflections on the summer job for further development. They also received feedback from supervisors, two board members, and each other. After the presentations, diplomas were awarded to each of the project leaders.
A common reflection was that this summer job has been very rewarding. Even though some parts were physically demanding, difficult to navigate around such as schedules and planning, it was generally a very fun job. Being able to work independently and take initiative with one's own hands has been experienced as educational and highly appreciated.

”You can't get a much better summer job.”– Elton & Nils, led the project Birdhouses.
The goals of Ung Planetskötare have aimed to strengthen the young people's hope for the future and competence in project management as well as practical environmental and nature conservation work. Something that touched everyone was how the young people's different interests and motivations together contributed to something greater than the projects themselves. They have not only taken a project from idea to completed work but also created ripples for future sustainable development in several areas. This is a testament that young people are very capable of equipping themselves and taking responsibility for their own local environment.
“It is a great achievement in itself that all six projects have been completed and achieved their goals. I feel very impressed and proud of everyone's efforts.” – My Sellberg, project manager for Ung Planetskötare.
A big thank you was directed to the young planet caretakers for their commitment to the environment, each other, and for this summer job.
