Hiking trail on Rävsten, "Klövtrampet"”

On the island of Rävsten in Östhammar, the Upplandsstiftelsen has built a new trail – Klövtrampet. These 1.2km will whizz by quickly, as the trail offers informative signs, plenty of seating and admirable views.

About the project

One of the popular trails on Rävsten, The fox trail, has been a favorite among visitors for over 25 years and offers the opportunity to explore the island in an easy and safe way. The Upplandsstiftelsen and Rävsten cottage village have long worked together to nurture and highlight the value of archipelago agriculture, and the biodiversity it brings to the island. But also to emphasize the importance of preserving the unique cultural and historical environment on Rävsten.

The Klövtrampet is a complementary path to the existing Rävspåret. It also constitutes a new activity and reason to visit Rävsten.

The Upplands Foundation, led by project leaders Elisabeth and Kerstin, has had a clear goal with the project – to create an easily accessible path by building trestles, bridges and benches and marking its route with clear trail markings.

Östhammar Municipality has actively contributed to the project with its experience in establishing trails and disseminating information to promote activities and outdoor life for residents. With the help of their cooperation and commitment, they strive to make Rävsten an even more attractive and educational destination for everyone who visits the island.

The inauguration of Klövtrampet was successful and was celebrated with around 30 participants, including a school class.
